整體目標

The mission of the Form 1 to Form 3 English Literature program is to nurture a love of reading in English while developing critical thinking, creativity, empathy, and cultural understanding through engagement with diverse literary texts, from classic works to contemporary voices. The program fosters analytical skills, imagination, and self-expression, helping students interpret texts and articulate their own ideas. Through this course of study, students build emotional intelligence, empathy, and cultural awareness, while connecting with perspectives different from their own. Linguistically, they develop a deeper understanding of the nuances of the English language, enhancing both their reading and writing abilities.
Our Literature curriculum extends this mission by cultivating a sustained passion for reading and literary analysis. Guided by the principle that literature develops independent, imaginative thinkers who use language to enrich their personal and intellectual lives, we expose students to a diverse range of texts from multiple cultures, genres, and historical periods. The study of literature fosters cultural sensitivity, encourages critical reflection on universal human experiences, and strengthens students’ ability to examine complex ideas and values through imaginative exploration.
