Assessment Policy

General Rules on Assessment Policy

  1. Annual assessment of each student’s performance takes into account the continuous efforts of students and the achievements in Term Uniform Tests and Examinations.
  2. One uniform test and one examination are carried out in each term.
  3. The continuous assessment mark includes the mark for the assessment for learning, which involves student’s performance in homework/assignment, exercises, projects, laboratory work, class participation, etc.
  4. Absence
    (a)    A student who is unable to attend the examination due to illness must submit a medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner in Hong Kong on the day of the absence.  The medical certificate must state the cause of the illness and prove that the student's physical condition is considered unfit for examination.
    (b)    On the first day of resumption of study, the student must submit a parent’s letter for leave of absence from examination and an application in writing to the school Associate Vice-Principal for requesting assessed marks for the missed test/examination.  The assessed marks are given to the absentee at the discretion of the school.
    (c)    Failure to submit the related documents on time will be considered as absence without justifiable reason.  Under no circumstances will the school offer any make-up examinations to any students.
